The Discipline of Joy

Joy is often seen as something that arrives by chance.

But Ayurveda suggests it grows through attention, like a garden.

When we make time for practices that nourish us: gentle movement, warm meals, time with loved ones, joy has space to root and flourish.

A woman standing outdoors with arms outstretched toward autumn trees, embracing freedom and joy in nature. Megan Haggett created this image.

It’s about creating conditions where joy can naturally appear.

A walk at sunset,

laughter shared,

a favorite song played aloud.

Small choices that keep the heart light.

Joy is not distant.

It can be here now and it’s found in the steady rhythm of care.

Move gently. Eat well. Care. Find joy.

Love,

Meg
