Arjuna’s Doubt and the Battlefield of Burnout

On the battlefield of the Bhagavad Gita, Arjuna drops his bow.

Overwhelmed, weary, unwilling to move forward. Krishna doesn’t shame him. He reminds him who he is, calls him back to steadiness, to purpose.

Burnout feels the same. The inbox becomes an army. The body wants to drop the bow. Ayurveda whispers like Krishna: pause, breathe, align. You are not meant to fight every battle, only the ones that matter.

Close-up of outstretched hands resting on a yoga mat, suggesting surrender, mindfulness, and discernment in life’s struggles. Megan Haggett created this image.

Confession: I’ve burned myself out chasing victories that weren’t mine to win. Until the body said enough. And I remembered Arjuna. Sometimes wisdom is knowing when to fight—and when to lay the bow down.

Practice: when exhaustion comes, step away for five minutes.

Hand on your heart, ask: Is this my battle?

If not, let it go.

Your worth is not measured by constant struggle. True strength is rhythm, not war.

Love, Meg
