A vibrant, cooling food illustration showing pitta-pacifying foods arranged beside flowing blue water and icy accents. Sweet fruits like apples, pears, grapes, berries, melons, cherries, and plums appear alongside green vegetables, leafy greens, squash, mushrooms, and cucumbers. Bowls of rice, quinoa, oats, barley, lentils, mung beans, tofu, and rice cakes are displayed with dairy foods such as milk, yogurt, ghee, soft cheeses, and ice cream. White meats, freshwater fish, nuts, seeds, oils, and gentle spices are included. Cool blues and greens contrast with the colorful foods, visually expressing the calming, soothing qualities that balance excess heat.

Favoring certain foods in your everyday diet may be appropriate as a general guideline when you're not sure where to begin. Here's a basic list of foods for Pitta Dosha-predominant individuals.

Please note that these guidelines are general and do not take into consideration individual dietary requirements or adjustments that may need to be made to support food allergies, agni strength, season, constitutional make-up or doshic imbalance. (* = okay in moderation, * = include rarely).
